When the Blessing gets Old

~

When the blessing gets old

We focus on what we don’t have

We forget what we do have

And Who gave it to us

~

When the blessing gets old

Jealousy and ingratitude set in

And an ungrateful heart

Is a harbour for sin

~

When the blessing gets old

We need to realise

Faithfulness is defined as

Consistent, all the time

~

When the blessing gets old

Just imagine a time

When you didn’t have that blessing

And you were still living your life

~

Blessings had for a while

Tend to eventually lose their shine

Good things for some

Become ordinary over time

~

An aged blessing

Is a sign of His love

His faithfulness and ability

To meet every need from above

~

So for the twenty-something year old blessings

Those ten years or five

Open your mouth and thank Him

For you are alive!
