There are times when we are forsaken 

By parents, children, spouses, friends 

But when does He forsake us? 

Never

There are times when we are overwhelmed 

By problems, issues, unforeseen circumstances 

But when is He overwhelmed? 

Never

There are times when we are disappointed 

By the actions of others and even by our own 

But when does He disappoint? 

Never

There are times when with confidence we take on a task 

Sure that others would come in and support 

Then they back out, muttering excuses 

When does He leave us stranded? 

Never

There are times when we give our hearts 

Sure that the one to whom we gave it would do the same 

Then they rip it to shreds, tossing it away 

When does He spurn our love? 

Never

There are times when we make detailed plans 

Sure that they would work out just fine 

Then those plans fail dismally, completely 

When do His plans fail and flop? 

Never 

~

Trust in the One 

Who never forsakes 

Is never overwhelmed 

Can do just what He says 

And loves us more than we know
