You used to sing songs that lift up the name of God
Come back
You used to lead the church to worship God
Come back
You used to witness and lead others to Christ
Come back
Teaching Sunday school and Bible school for most of your life
Come back
~
Lifting up His name in spiritual songs
You stood on the pulpit, praising God
Admonishing us to walk the straight and narrow
You held our hands and prayed for us
Now this God you talked about
You’ve spiritually distanced yourself from
To dabble in the world, dabble in sin
Remember when you said, “To live is Christ, to die is gain?”
~
You took a step backward
When you stopped living for Him
You lost wisdom
When you stopped respecting His name
~
You heaped up pleasures
Seemingly unaware
That their consequences would last
Many times longer than them
~
Remember what you used to say,
“We ain’t nothing, without His grace?”
After all your toil you give up now?
Lose your reward and reject the Father’s love?
~
Come back home
He’s waiting for you
To run into His arms again
~
You can’t make it on your own
Don’t be left with a bitter, miserable soul
Remember where you fell from
And again, desire to be in His House
~
You don’t know if they’ll forgive you
But come back
You don’t know what they’ll think
But come back
You do know He’s forgiven you
So, come back
And you do know there’s work to be done
So, come back
~
Come back home…
